This Philip 170s LCD Monitor was repaired by someone before and the problem was the display appeared for less than a second and then shut down. This usually prompt to a failure in inverter board or bad backlights. After opened the cover and test for the high voltage transformer, i found one of the transformer secondary winding has an open circuit. I tested it with ohmmeter. Even if you set your analogue meter to the highest range (X10 k ohm) there is still no reading!
Due to the no availability of the high voltage transformer spare parts i used the modification method to solve the problem. It took me about 15 minutes to completely finish the job. Now the Philips 107s LCD Monitor works beautifully
